easy DIY party favor

For my bachelorette party, I made these personalized tumblers with goodies inside for each of my guests. It is the perfect DIY party favor.

I gave them out as little thank you gifts to thank them for coming to celebrate with me! It worked out really well because then we didn’t need to get cups and it was easy to keep track of which one belonged to who.

This can be an even easier favor if you skip the personalization on the outside!

How to Create the Personalized Tumbler

For the cup, I used a generic tumbler and some holographic vinyl from Cricut. (The vinyl can’t be put in the dishwasher and needs to be hand-washed. I’ve been using mine for about six months and haven’t had any problems with peeling because I’ve been careful with washing).

First, I started by buying this 12-pack of tumblers. I chose this one because all the lids were different colors, it had good reviews and it came to about $3 per cup. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Next, I used my Cricut to create the names. On Cricut Design Space, I created a cut file with each girl’s name. I downloaded a font called Sweet Pea from dafont.com. I made each girl’s name 4″ long and the program then adjusted the height.

Then I cut the vinyl out using my Cricut Explore machine. After it was cut and weeded, I applied the vinyl to the clean tumbler. (I used transfer tape for this project because I was nervous about the rounded surface).

What to Put Inside

For this particular party, I went with a girly theme. I put a small bath bomb, a perfume sampler and some nail polish inside. Beauty products were a good choice for me because it went with a girl’s night out theme. I bought all the products in value sets and ended up spending maybe $10 per person.

The awesome thing about this favor is that you can personalize the outside and the inside. You can make the gifts inside the cup fit whatever theme you want!

If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, candy is always a good choice. You can buy a bulk bag and fill 10 tumblers.

To Top it Off

To finish the project, I attached a thank you tag to the straw. If you aren’t doing the vinyl on the outside, you can add name tags to the straw to give it a more personalized touch.

This is an awesome party favor because the cup is something that can be used over and over again. I love that I’m passing on and encouraging friends to be environmentally friendly with a party favor!

I always love getting personalized or monogrammed items. This one is so simple to make. A tumbler is so easy to personalize or leave plain. Either way, it will still be used in the future. This is also so customizable because you can fill the cup with absolutely whatever you want!

I also made another budget friendly party favor for my friends baby shower. You can read about it here!
