amazon prime perks you may be missing out on

When I first got an Amazon Prime account, it was solely for the convenience of getting that free 2-day shipping. I didn’t realize that there were so many other Amazon Prime perks that were included in the fee.

I am all about getting my money’s worth and using memberships to the absolute fullest. If I am not going to use the membership to its full advantage, why even have it? Here are some Amazon Prime perks, you can start using today.

Amazon Music

You get free access to a portion of the Amazon Music library. They have over 2 million songs available and tons of different playlists and stations as well. You can create your own playlists and even download songs so you can listen without WiFi.

You can pay an extra $7.99 a month for access to the entire library, which includes over 50 million songs if the free version doesn’t have what you’re looking for. The library included with Prime membership has been more than sufficient for me.

Amazon Photo

If you are an Amazon Prime member you get access to Amazon photo which gives you UNLIMITED photo storage. It can be accessed from any device as long as you are able to log into your amazon account.

My husband is a big photography buff and has over 25000 photos saved on Amazon photos. It’s an awesome place to keep them as a backup in case your computer ever has an issue. They can be accessed on a different device later.

Amazon Kindle Library

With Amazon Prime, you also get access to free books, magazines, and audiobooks. The library has over 1,000 books to choose from. You can have up to 10 books at a time. If you want to get any after that, just return one and you can continue to swap them in and out. This is the very basic version, you can upgrade to kindle unlimited for $9.99 and gain access to over one million titles.

I haven’t upgraded, but I am not a huge book reader either so the free books have been sufficient for me since it takes me a while to finish reading one.

Prime Video

This is essentially another version of Hulu or Netflix. There’s quite a large selection of content to watch, but the prime version doesn’t always include the most well-known movies and tv shows, but they have a lot of original content.

They do have TONS of movies you can rent or buy as well. Same as the music, you have the option to download the content so you can watch it later without the internet. This has saved me from a lot of boredom on airplanes.

Amazon Smile

Amazon smile is not a feature that is exclusive for Prime members, but its a feature I love so I thought I would mention it. If you use Amazon smile (just go to smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com) 0.5% of your purchase will go to the charity you select (they have over a million).

It’s so awesome that you are able to help donate money to a deserving charity just buying making purchases you were going to make anyway.

I take advantage of all of these services that are included in my membership. It helps make my membership more worthwhile, especially when I bought it for the sole purpose of free shipping. When I’m not ordering as much, I am still taking advantage of the membership.
